Job Summary:
The Hospitality Associate hosts our members and guests on a variety of tasting options. The Hospitality Associate is expected to engage, educate, and entertain wine enthusiasts of all levels, have an appreciation for the diverse wine and food culture, as well as suggests other offerings within the same wine region. To be successful in this key tasting room position, you must have a passion for hospitality, be sales focused, and enjoy working as part of a close, connected team in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Hospitality and Guest Experience
1) Provide exceptional hospitality creating a culture of “yes” for guests and coworkers alike.
2) Contribute to and provide a safe and positive work environment for you and your team.
3) Provide a friendly and sincere greeting and farewell, using guest names when possible.
4) Educate guest about our history and wines.
5) Work as a unified team to achieve wine sales and membership goals.
6) Anticipate members and guest needs, delivering hospitality that exceeds expectations.
7) Assist guest with information and reservations at restaurants, hotels, and other wineries as needed.
8) Develop on going relationships with guests to stimulate repeat visits and future sales.
9) Represent Capital Call Vintners at both on and off-site consumer events as needed.
10) Monitor and maintain organization, cleanliness, and aesthetics of all guest facing areas.
Daily Operations:
Opening procedures
1) Use the POS Commerce 7 system to open Ipads
2) Calculate the daily inventory for pour wines, open and taste for flaws, and account for inventory.
3) Set up tasting room service with glassware, tasting notes, and all proper marketing materials.
4) Restock wine displays.
During Tasting Room Hours of Operation:
•  Use POS system to ring in sales and enter guest information into the database.
•  Correctly assists guests with filling out ship order forms and wine club signup brochures.
•  Answer voice and email requests for tasting appointments as needed.
•  Assist teammates and support roles in the tasting room as needed.
Closing Procedures:
1) Use POS system to cash out the register and assemble daily deposit.
2) Mark out any inventory from sample wines via the POS.
3) Break down tasting room, washing all dishes, and putting away all marketing materials.
Ongoing duties:
1) Stay current with recent wine reviews and industry news.
2) Learn about other wineries and their wines; use that information to recommend other wineries with great tasting experiences for our guests.
3) Actively participate in regularly scheduled staff educational tastings and meetings.
Position Specifications:
•  Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
•  Minimum 6 month wine industry or hospitality experience preferred.
•  Knowledge of general winemaking and viticulture techniques or strong willingness to learn.
•  Ability to acquire specific knowledge about Capital Call Vintners Portfolio.
•  Excellent communication skills.
•  Basic computer skills, including POS and reservation systems.
•  Ability to work weekends and select holidays.
Physical Requirements:
•  Standing and walking for a majority of your shift
•  Climbing/Bending/Kneeling
•  Being able to lift up to 50 pounds
