Mindseeker's Healthcare Division is hiring: Patient Access Director

Duration: 3-6 months with a strong possibility of going permanent.

Job Summary:

The Director of Patient Access plans, directs, supervises, coordinates, and monitors patient registration policies and procedures for all inpatient and outpatient care on a continuous basis to provide safe and expedient care for the patient. The director also serves as a liaison with physicians, nursing, and ancillary departments to continually provide quality care during the scheduling and registration process. This position also manages Central Scheduling including all of the ancillary departments outpatient appointments. Includes insurance verification, pre-cert verification, co-pay validation, as well as out-of-pocket estimation.

Essential Functions:

•Observes, monitors, and posts requirements of the sate and federal government in regard to prevention of discrimination to comply with regulations.

•Acts as a resource to patients, families, clinicians with regard to access to medical care, costs, resources, charity care etc.

•follows all GVH policies with regards to conduct, payroll and progressive discipline.

•Knows and applies principles of staffing for registration processing and has staff coverage to continually provide for timely processing.

•Interviews and hires according to Hospital policies for staffing needs when applicable.

•Provides new employees with orientation and on-the-job training so employee has necessary registration/Scheduling skills.

•Conducts Performance Evaluations with an emphasis on the patient experience

•Develops and promotes the departmental budget, capital budget for each site.

•Works collaboratively with other members of the Revenue Cycle toidentify opportunities for for efficiencies are possible..

•Leads Patient Access performance initiatives

•Creates /Implements staffing plans for each site based on volumes and hours of operation

•Monitor/trend and report Key performance indicators. Define action plans to address any deficiencies.

•Defines and implements quality and productivity metrics to insure each staff member's efforts are maximized.

•Maintains current knowledge of all 3rd party payors. Implements policies/procedures to insure compliance with regulations

•Ensures adequate resources and technology is in place to provide optimal service levels to patients and clinicians.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree

Business, Health Administration, or similar field of study

And

Over 3 years to 5 years

Hospital Patient Registration experience
