Job Title: Infrastructure & Cyber security Specialist
Location: Austin, TX (Remote)
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex problems/issues, recommending and implementing effective solutions.
- Provide advanced support for Windows and Linux operating systems and applications.
- Manage network facilities, data processing techniques, computer hardware/software, network operating systems, and security software.
- Monitor system performance and utilize capacity management tools effectively.
- Lead calls including project kick-offs, critical findings reviews, and close-out discussions with stakeholders.
- Prepare concise written reports tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Implement robust security measures to protect systems, networks, and data.
- Maintain current knowledge of cybersecurity threats, methodologies, and breaches to ensure proactive threat mitigation.
- Ensure all networks have appropriate security protocols to prevent unauthorized access and update systems with any software or hardware changes.
- Conduct proactive research to identify emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits, implementing protective measures as needed.
- Apply extensive experience with NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53, MARS-E controls, and manage POA&Ms and Corrective Action Plans.
- Review and address violations of computer security procedures in collaboration with the HHSC/TIERS Security team.
- Provide Oracle, MSSQL, and Postgres database support.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience:
- identifying and resolving issues, analyzing alternatives, and implementing effective solutions.
- supporting Windows and Linux operating systems and applications.
- expertise in network facilities, data processing, hardware/software, network operating systems, security software, and performance monitoring.
- leading project calls and stakeholder discussions regarding security findings and remediation.
- implementing security measures to protect systems and data.
- experience in network security, ensuring the protection and current status of security systems.
- conducting proactive research into cybersecurity threats and implementing protection measures.
- experience with NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53, MARS-E controls, POA&Ms, and Corrective Action Plans.
- reviewing and addressing computer security violations and discussing findings with security teams.
- providing database support for Oracle, MSSQL, and Postgres.
Preferred Qualifications:
- working with tools such as Archer GRC, Dynatrace, Splunk, Imperva Web Application Firewall, Qualys, and MS Office tools.
- experience training staff on network and information security procedures.
- experience with ITIL methodologies, including ticketing using Remedy and ServiceNow.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- High-level expertise in regulatory and industry cybersecurity standards.
- Proficiency in providing technical and non-technical training.
