Job Description
Inbound Logistics Administrator acts as the main point of contact for the warehouse for inbound. This role is responsible for coordinating inbound traffic to ensure the internal and external customer needs are met with appropriate and excellent service.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for coordination of receiving and shipping customer orders.
- Performs common warehouse administrative tasks, such as taking physical inventory, issuing inbound/outbound documentation and shipping documents.
- Validate inbound shipments and process receipt transactions in ERP system.
- Coordinate the receipt of all inbound shipments and transfers into the warehouse, including all documentation, system updates and internal and external communication.
- Reconcile inbound shipments to PO's.
- Facilitate carrier operations and delivery appointments.
- Maintain shipment histories and document files.
- Oversee supplier compliance (Pre-notice of shipments, On-time delivery, Proper packaging and labeling)
- Work with suppliers and customers to resolve overage/shortage & damage issues and file freight claims
- Update management on inbound freight metrics and on KPI
- Load, track, and maintain Advance Shipment Notices (ASN).
- Experience with scheduling systems.
- Be the point of contact for internal departments, i.e., Account Support and Purchasing on ETAs of product.
- Expedite inbound orders when necessary.
- Enter in AS/400 system the time receiving is complete, print and audit Receiver SAP entries to bills of lading and purchase order detail, resolve any discrepancies with the Receiver.
- Have drivers sign bill of lading and Over, Short and Damage paperwork (OSD) and scan all paperwork to accounting for processing.
- Able to lift, carry, push and pull weights of up to 25 lbs occasionally. Weekend hours may be required for this position.
- Accounts for warehouse inventory by making accounting entries using Dachser internal operating systems (Mikado and Othello) and methods.
- Collaborates with all departments within the branch and the company at large, as necessary.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- 1 year of experience working in a warehouse setting preferred.
- 1 year of freight International and Domestic forwarding or logistics experience preferred.
- Experience in working with Warehouse Management System preferred
- Demonstrated language proficiency (oral, comprehension and written) in English.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Excellent computer literacy skills and proficiency with Windows programs, specifically Word and Excel.
- Accurate data entry skills.
- Great organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Enjoys working as a part of a team.
Physical Demands/Work environment - No heavy lifting is expected; although exertion of up to 50 pounds of force may be required on occasion.
- Manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment, such as computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
- Sitting for extended periods of time is common.
- Hearing and vision within average range to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
- This position is performed in a traditional office setting.
- Travel is not required.
