We have an excellent Business Teacher opportunity at several of our Monroe location - Andrew Trahey School! As a Teacher at Hillside, you will be responsible for providing a success-oriented learning and/or skills-building experience for designated students. You should possess strong behavior management skills, as well as the ability to differentiate instruction in order to meet the needs of the young people that we serve. You will need to be able to work effectively as a member of the treatment team. Under the supervision of the Principal, as the Business Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching basic economics, resume writing, facts about business careers, accounting and finance, resume writing, and the stock market.
Responsibilities:
+ Develops standards-based classroom instruction
+ Provides specially designed instruction, differentiated instruction
+ Utilize Hillside's curriculum maps to deliver best-practice instruction
+ Support students' academic and emotional growth based on students IEP and treatment plan
+ Teach knowledge in business math, stock market, careers in business, marketing, accounting and finance.
+ Improve students' knowledge of business practices such as resume writing
+ Deliver skills and knowledge for students to function as responsible citizens in the business world
+ Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities
+ Evaluate each student's performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and prepare progress reports
+ Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and/or in self-selected professional growth activities
+ Communicate with parents and school counselors on pupil progress
+ Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Administration
+ Present a calm demeanor in stressful situations
Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree in Business Education or related field and/or Master's degree in Business Education preferred
+ NYS Education Certification(s)
+ Working knowledge of conflict resolution required
+ Must have a valid driver's license and meet agency driving standards
+ Must be able to work 12 months
$ 51,480.00 Minimum Rate per year, $ 69,888.00 Maximum Rate per year, based on experience
