TITLE: Assistant Principal - Centennial Elementary School - 2nd - 3rd Grade
Qualifications - Administrative Endorsement, Professional Educators License

REPORTS TO: Building Principal
SUPERVISES: Assists the Principal with all Building Level Staff
JOB GOALS: Responsible for assisting the principal with leadership, direction supervision, operation, and accountability at the assigned school. The assistant principal plays a critical role in supporting the Principal in the overall administration of the school and acts as a crucial link between the school's staff, students, parents, and the wider community.

- The Assistant Principal is crucial for supporting the principal in the overall administration and leadership of the school.
- The Assistant Principal is essential in providing leadership for daily school operations, policy enforcement, student welfare, staff development and management, academic affairs, and parent and community engagement responsibilities.
STUDENT WELFARE AND MANAGEMENT - Implements and monitors school-wide behavioral expectations and policies, including monitoring attendance trends and overseeing truancy interventions; address safety and welfare issues by holding meetings with parents, investigating incidents, documenting findings, contacting proper authorities, and conforming to legal requirements and regulations, including managing school policies regarding student behavior and discipline.
- Resolves student issues by meeting with students, parents, teachers, and other school staff and designing a plan of action.
- Implements and addresses behavioral issues, mediates conflicts, and works with students, teachers, and parents to develop positive solutions.
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS ?
- Implements instructional and assessment strategies by attending meetings, facilitating discussions among teachers and staff, and working with the principal, instructional coach(es), and Directors, to plan professional development.
- Collects and analyzes student assessment data.
- Assists in the development and implementation of curriculum standards.
- Helps coordinate the scheduling of classes and teacher assignments.
- Supports teachers in the implementation of the curriculum and in enhancing their teaching skills through professional development.
- Evaluates classroom practices and recommends improvements to instructional methods.
- Assists in the analysis of student performance data to identify areas needing improvement.
- Prepares reports on student data, school performance, and other metrics as required by the school district or state.
- Contributes to the strategic planning of the school, setting goals and objectives, and determining the best strategies to achieve them.
- Monitors the implementation of strategic plans and evaluates their effectiveness
STAFF MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT ?
- Serves as an instructional leader by monitoring the implementation of professional development in classrooms and grade-level/content area meetings in accordance with the school and district improvement plans.
- Supervises employees, including serving as an instructional leader, assigning and directing work, interviewing, evaluating performance, and resolving issues.
- Addresses building management concerns by working with the custodial staff, office staff, teachers, and District staff, including implementing school-wide safety and emergency protocols.
- Organizes professional development activities and ensures that staff requirements for training and licenses are up-to-date.
- Fosters a collaborative educational environment and promotes teamwork among staff.
OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT ?
- Collaborates and develops a master schedule.
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates school projects
- Supervises and manages school events in collaboration with the principal.
- Assists in managing the school's daily operations, including scheduling, record maintenance, and coordination of school services.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and policies.
- Oversees the maintenance of the school building and grounds, ensuring a safe and clean environment for all.
- May represent the building at out-of-building committee meetings.
PARENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ?
- Creates and strengthens partnerships with parents and the community.
- Organizes and attends school events and meetings.
- Communicates effectively with parents and community members about school programs and student progress.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Principal, District Administration, Superintendent, or Board of Education.
Terms of Employment: 11-month
Salary based on experience, starting at $75,000
Evaluation: The performance of the job will be evaluated per performance responsibilities by the building Principal.
