Job Description: Syracuse University invites applications for Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor in Sport Management. The faculty member will be the instructor of record, including overseeing SPM internship placement coordinators, for the 12-credit experiential, field-based capstone course that is a signature element of the sport management undergraduate degree. In addition, this position will oversee the overall integrated experiential learning program for the SPM Department. Depending upon department needs the faculty member may teach up to two additional courses per semester in addition to these duties.
Extensive professional background and/or teaching and research expertise in a sport management industry sector or field is desirable. Previous experience working with undergraduate students is preferred. The Department of Sport Management in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics offers a B.S. degree in Sport Management, a B.S. in Sport Analytics, a B.S. in eSports Communications and Management, M.S. in Sport Venue and Event Management, a CAS in Sport Analytics, and an online M.S. in Sport Analytics.

Responsibilities: - Primary duties include undergraduate instruction for the 12-credit capstone course in the Sport Management major, as well as other undergraduate instruction in the Department of Sport Management.
- Primary duties also include management of the Sport Management Department’s experiential learning program and supervision of the Sport Management Department’s intern coordinators.
- In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate is expected to provide academic mentoring to students, do substantial service on SPM and College Committees and with professional organizations, and effectively handle other responsibilities associated with being a faculty member.
